BRAMS has recently been accepted as a trial site to implement a project to deliver a Family and Domestic Violence program through AHCWA. The project aims to:
- Provide a culturally responsive and holistic FDV service, including case management and wrap-around support;
- Provide a crisis response; and
- Raise awareness of FDV in the community through culturally responsive education.
About the Role
The Aboriginal Family and Domestic Violence Case Worker will provide specialist support and collaborative case management to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their child(ren) in accordance with the Western Australian Aboriginal Family Safety Strategy.
The Aboriginal Family and Domestic Violence Case Worker will provide targeted case management and interagency advocacy to assist the women and children to achieve goals set out in their case plan. In addition, this role will involve developing and implementing community education projects, programs and presentations and coordinating events and activities.
To be successful, you will:
- Have demonstrated experience or understanding of health and wellbeing issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; and
- Demonstrated understanding and application of Family and Domestic Violence models and theories.
- Have a minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or related fields.
