About Us
The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) has been a vital part of the Broome community for over 45 years. As Western Australia’s first remote Aboriginal Medical Service, BRAMS provides holistic and culturally responsive primary healthcare, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
BRAMS operates a multidisciplinary team that supports over 40,000 occasions of service annually, focusing on delivering high-quality care to meet the diverse needs of the community.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and community-focused Evidence and Access Coordinator to assist individuals with disabilities in navigating the NDIS access process. In this role, you will:
- Facilitate eligibility testing and support participants in gathering required documentation and evidence.
- Assist with the coordination of NDIS plan development and planning meetings.
- Serve as the key contact between participants, families, and the NDIA to ensure smooth communication and support.
- Collaborate with Remote Community Connectors and Local Area Coordinators to connect participants with community resources.
- Provide support to individuals who do not meet NDIS eligibility by linking them with alternative services and supports.
This role is essential to improving access to life-changing support for community members, ensuring they receive the services they need.About You
We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented professional with the following attributes:
- Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is highly regarded.
- A strong understanding of how disabilities impact daily life and the role of support services in improving participation and independence.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage with participants, families, and external stakeholders.
- A culturally respectful approach, with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
